What to expect with a mystery Holiday at Montego Bay
Situated on the northern shores of the Caribbean island of Jamaica, Montego Bay manages to marry the stunning diversity of the natural world with a great array of places to sleep, eat and dance.
Away from its vibrant commercial centre, there are a number of breathtaking beaches to consider stopping by, with Walter Fletcher Beach and Doctor’s Cove Beach among those the most highly celebrated on the island.
The waters that caress these beaches are known for their sea life, which can be seen among bright corals on snorkelling and diving excursions through the protected waters of Montego Bay Marine Park.
Montego Bay is also home to several perfectly-manicured golf courses, ensuring that whatever your interests, you’ll find plenty to occupy yourself during your seven day Mystery Holidays trip.
Good to know before you go to Montego Bay
It’s best to stick to official transport options when visiting Montego Bay, which means clearly marked taxis or one that has been arranged by your hotel or resort. Unofficial taxis may save you a few pounds, but they are not always up to scratch.
Most visitors won’t need a visa to visit Montego Bay, but you do need to demonstrate a return air ticket. To avoid problems at immigration, it’s always best to print a copy of your return ticket to present to officers. It can also be beneficial to have the contact details of the place you are staying to hand.
Credit and debit cards are accepted widely, as is the US dollar for larger purchases, while the national currency is the Jamaican dollar. It’s useful to have some Jamaican dollars for smaller purchases such as souvenirs. They can be obtained from booths at the airport on arrival.
